Foundry Church Newcastle
In the Bible, God tells us that Jesus died and rose so that we could be forgiven and enjoy eternal life with Him.
We'd love more of our neighbours to hear this good news. So in September we’re looking to plant a church somewhere near Wallsend.
Church starting in September, 4pm Sundays.
We are an independent evangelical church who love to hear from God's Word each week. And we're convinced that God gifts every believer to serve, so we sing, we pray, and we look to build each other up in Christ.
We love being a church for all ages, so to help our younger members there will be a simple dinner for toddlers, a kids' program during church, and youth discipleship as well.
Sam Broadfoot
Senior Pastor
Sam was born and bred in Newcastle. He became a Christian at university where he began to pray for more Novocastrians to know how good Jesus is.
After a brief stint as an engineer, he and his wife Bo-Jasmine spent 4 years studying at Moore College. Since 2019 they have served the gospel through All Saints Anew church in New Lambton.
Beck Bishop
Assistant Pastor
Beck comes from a solid ministry family and is married to "the best South African in the whole wide world", Daz.
She has 18 years' experience running mainly music for little ones and their carers, and is involved in school Scripture both at the school level and as a member of the Hunter SRE Committee.
She absolutely loves introducing people to Jesus.
Evan Harris
Assistant Pastor
Evan grew up in Penrith and is married to Eliza with 3 young boys.
He studied at Moore College in 2018-2021, where his desire to serve outside of Sydney grew.
When the opportunity to plant a church in Newcastle arose, he jumped at it.
He can also kick a ball very hard.
There is only one God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Spirit, in perfect unity. He is the almighty and loving Creator, Saviour and Judge who sustains and governs all things according to his sovereign will for his own glory.
The Bible, as originally given, is the God-breathed and infallible word of God. This precious, life-giving word is sufficient for our knowledge of God and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
All people are created in God's image and are called to love God with all their beings. We believe he made us male and female and gave us the institution of marriage, as a lifelong covenantal relationship between one man and one woman as the only proper context for the enjoyment of sexual union. We believe the gifts of singleness and marriage both point to God and the gospel in different and valuable ways. Since the fall, all people are guilty of rebellion against God and human nature is thoroughly corrupted by sin. This makes everyone subject to God's righteous anger and condemnation.
God demonstrated his love towards us by sending his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is both fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He died on the cross, rose from the dead, and in his resurrected body ascended into heaven where he is exalted as ruler over all.
Salvation is entirely the gracious gift of God and cannot be earned or deserved. It is accomplished through the atoning death, once for all time, of our representative and substitute, Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and sinners. By Christ's death God's anger is turned aside, we are redeemed from sin and death, and we are declared to be righteous in God's sight. This salvation is offered in the gospel and received by turning to God from sin and trusting in Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven by the Father and the Son. He enables people to turn to God, the Father, and to trust in Jesus Christ, the Lord. He makes the death of Christ effective to individual sinners, imparting spiritual life. God's Spirit dwells in all those he has regenerated, producing in them likeness to Christ in attitudes, actions and speech.
The Lord Jesus Christ builds the church, his people, through the proclamation and teaching of his word. All who have been saved through the work of Christ are members of his church and united with one another. God has equipped his people with gifts to be used for mutual edification in the church and for the proclamation of the gospel to the world.
The Lord Jesus Christ will return from heaven. He will execute God's condemnation on all who have not turned to God through Jesus Christ, and he will welcome his people into a life of eternal joy in fellowship with God. On that day all sin, suffering and death will be completely destroyed, and God will be glorified forever.
God loves people and wants what's best for them: eternal life through Jesus Christ. Please ask Him to show this kindness to countless more Novocastrians.
Under God we'd love to launch this church with 100 adults as well as kids and youth.
Would you consider joining us?
We're looking for a venue close to Wallsend that will fit 150 chairs, and also has rooms for kids ministry.
Do you know one?
On top of staffing, we'll also be hiring spaces to use for our Sunday meetings and midweek ministries. So if you're able to give a one-off gift for startup costs, or contribute to the ongoing costs for a year or two, we would be very thankful.
